I snapped this one during a renovation of the modernist wonder that is Grady High School’s stadium. Designed by Richard Aeck, it opened in 1948.

The Silver Grill served good ol’ meat-and-three meals on Monroe Drive from 1945 to 2006. A large number of those plates were delivered by Peggy, who worked there as a server for 45 years. New owners made a valiant attempt to resurrect it in 2007, but it closed down again.
